Alberts, Auckland with Phoebe Hodgson

Alberts' Phoebe Hodgson guides us through the sought-after Alberts and gives us an insider's view of Auckland's unique offerings, ambiance, and experiences. We know our members pass through Auckland a lot, so make sure you are connected to Alberts with our Global Membership.

  1. What does the perfect day look like in Auckland for you?

Start the day with some exercise then head into the office, currently based out of the Formery Club, where I will grab a coffee in the Club Lounge and catch up on emails. At lunchtime, I will head along to a meditation in our theatre at 1 Albert Street then it's back up to the Formery to grab some lunch. The afternoon will be filled with more emails and meetings before finishing off the day with some after-work drinks in the Club Lounge or at Palmer Bar!

  1. Tell us about Alberts’ community and membership model.

Alberts offers memberships to individuals and tenants within Alberts owned buildings. Our members and tenant-members receive discounted rates on our meeting room and venue hire and have full access to our experience offerings and club spaces. Currently, Alberts has two Clubs located in Auckland’s CBD - the Formery and our flagship Club at 1 Albert Street with more to come. Alberts members enjoy using the Club spaces to host events, have coffee catch-ups, or work in between meetings.

  1. What’s in the Alberts pipeline for 2024? We’d love to hear about your key business plans and updates.

2024 is a big year for Alberts with the opening of the Formery earlier this year in February. Still to come for the Formery this year is the opening of our wellness center (saunas, ice baths, and a studio room!) and the opening of our new event space which we have plans to work on new sites (watch this space) as well as expanding our event and experience offerings for our members.

  1. The membership model is an exciting one for us and is a business focus we share with Alberts. What have your highlights and learnings been so far?

A highlight has been watching our members engage with our new space the Formery. Where the Formery is located, it is a short walk from our original Club and both have a unique vibe so it has been interesting to watch how our members engage with the space differently.

  1. Favourite local hotel and restaurant that you would recommend to Mountain Club members visiting Auckland?

The Hotel Britomart is great for a staycation or for visitors, as is the QT in the Viaduct - make sure you visit the rooftop bar. For restaurants, we are biased but would have to recommend visiting Palmer Bar in the city which is part of the Alberts umbrella for great drinks and snacks.

With your Mountain Club Global Membership, the world becomes your playground. Expand your horizons, forge new connections, and indulge in unparalleled experiences. Visit our website here for more information on how we can take you here, there and everywhere.
